History of name changes

Action Medical Research was established in 1952 with the immediate mission to eradicate polio in the UK and wider world. However, over the course of our 50-year history, that mission has changed, and so has our name. We show below how the Charity has progressed over the decades.

(The Charity was also known informally as Action for the Crippled Child and Action Research for the Crippled Child during this period.)

1990–2003

2003+
