Trustees
The trustees are responsible for the policies and strategies of Action Medical Research and give their medical, financial and business skills and expertise on a voluntary basis. The council of trustees meets four times a year and is supported by a number of advisory committees.

Richard Price
Mr Price joined the council in 2005 and was elected chair in August 2008. He is co-founder and retired chair of professional education company BPP. He is currently chair of awarding body company EDI and British Association for Performing Arts Medicine (BAPAM). He is a council member of the Royal College of Music.

Mr Jackson joined the council in 2006 and is a member of the Investment and Audit Committee.

Esther Alderson
Trained as a doctor at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington and worked, mostly in paediatrics, in a number of London hospitals before having children. Since then she has been involved in voluntary fundraising for a number of children's charities.
Professor Sarah Bray BA M.Phil PhD
Professor in Developmental Biology at Cambridge University and will chair the Scientific Advisory Panel from January 2012 taking over from Professor Andrew George.

Professor Andrew J T George MA PhD DSc
Professor George was Chair of the Scientific Advisory Panel (SAP) January 2008 - January 2012. He is Professor of Molecular Immunology at Imperial College London and Director of the Graduate School and the School of Professional Development. Professor George is also Chair of the UK's National Research Ethics Advisors' Panel.
David Gibbs
A retired investment banker, Mr Gibbs is a member of the charity’s Investment and Audit Committee, and has been a member of the council since 2006.
Phil Hodkinson
Phil joined the council in January 2012 and will also be a member of the charity’s Investment and Audit Committee. Phil has a wealth of financial experience within commercial and charitable sectors.
Val Remington-Hobbs
A long standing supporter of Action Medical Research Val Remington-Hobbs joined the council in January 2010. She brings a wealth of experience as a volunteer fundraiser and as County Chair, Suffolk, and Chair of Stowmarket Committee.

A council member since 2006, Sir John Wickerson is solicitor to Action Medical Research and a member of the Investment and Audit Committee.
