- Q: What time do I need to be at the start point?
Registration opens at 7.00am and closes at 9.00am.
- Q: What time will the ride start?
Riders will set off in small groups from 7.30am
- Q: What time does the ride finish?
Ride closes at 6.30pm.
- Q: How old do I need to be to take part?
18 or 17 with an adult.
- Q: How fit do I need to be?
Reasonable fitness is required and you should be able to ride 50 miles in the weeks leading up to the event without too much difficulty.
- Q: Do I need to have cycled 100 miles before?
No, we encourage riders of all abilities and for many this is their first 100 mile event.
- Q: Do I need to be a member of a club?
No, anyone can take part.
- Q: Do I need insurance?

- Q: Can family and friends come along to support me?
We welcome support for our riders on the day, out on the route and at the finish.
- Q: Will food be available?
There are feed stations and lunch is provided on route. Also a celebratory BBQ at the finish.
- Q: Do I need to tell you if I have special dietary requirements or if I am vegan/vegetarian?
It would help us to plan more certainly for the BBQ.
- Q: What is included?
Ride support, feed stations, lunch, medal and certificate.
- Q: Do I need to wear a cycle helmet?
You must wear a cycle helmet to take part in an Action Medical Research ride.
- Q: Is the ride signposted/marshalled?
Signposted.
- Q: Are the roads closed?
No.
- Q: Can I ride as part of a team?
Yes, we encourage team to take part.
- Q: What kind of bike should I use?
A road bike is advisable, but you can choose to use a bike that suits you.
- Q: What if my bike breaks down?
You should carry with you your pump and spare inner. There will be sweeper vehicles who can stop and help if you need it. If you bike is beyond repair, you and your bike will be given a lift to the lunch stop and/or the finish depending on whether you want collected or whether you wish to wait to the end to get the return bus back to Stormont.

No.
- Q: What support will there be on the route?
There will be manned stops along the road to help you refuel. First Aid support is available.
- Q: Where can I view the route?

- Q: How many checkpoints are there?
There are 3 stops and 2 checkpoints.
- Q: Is any of the route off road?
No, it is all on good roads.
- Q: How do I contact the organiser if I have a problem on the route?
A contact number will be given to you at the start.
- Q: What happens if I get lost?
You must contact the organiser who will be able to direct you back on route.
- Q: How long do I have to complete the ride?
You have until 6.30pm.
- Q: What happens if I can’t complete the distance?
You can opt to stop at any time. Advise the organiser and arrangements can be made.
- Q: When do I get my rider number?
When you register at the desk on the day.
- Q: Is the ride timed?
No the ride is not timed.
- Q: Are there timing chips
There are no timing chips.
- Q: Are there any rules that I need to adhere to?
The Highway Code and respect other road users and riders on our event.
- Q: Is the ride affiliated to British Cycling?
No, this is not a BC event.
- Q: If I haven’t pre registered can I still turn up and enter on the day? And if so, how much will you charge?
Yes you can. Registration on the day is £25.
- Q: What happens if I can’t attend but I’ve paid to enter?
Your registration fee is non-refundable.
- Q: How much money do I need to raise in sponsorship?
You need to raise a minimum of £100.
- Q: When do I have pay my sponsorship money?
Ideally you can bring your sponsorship with you on the day or fundraise using our on-line sponsorship account. We ask that all monies are sent to us no later than 8 weeks after the event.
- Q: How does AMR benefit?

- Q: Is there parking at the start/finish point? And if so, how much does it cost?
There is ample free parking at the Pavilion Car Park.
- Q: Is there overnight accommodation nearby and if so, have you secured any preferential rates with nearby hotels/B&B’s?
There are plenty of hotels nearby that you can stay in. Please contact the organiser for a list.
- Q: Where is the nearest railway station?
The nearest railway station (& bus station) is Queen Victoria Station.
- Q: Can I leave my belongings at the start?
Yes, you can leave a bag, labelled with your name at the start and it will meet you at both the lunch and finish point. But, we recommend you lock your valuables in your car, or take them with you.
- Q: Are there changing facilities at the start?
Yes.
- Q: Are there toilets on the route?
Yes, and at lunch.
- Q: Are there showers and changing at the finish area?
Yes.
- Q: Is there food and drink available at the finish?
Yes there is a celebratory BBQ
- Q: Is transport provided back to the start?
A bus is laid on to transport you back to Stormont where your bikes will be waiting for you. Bubble wrap is provided for your bike, wrap and put on van in Portstewart for transporting to Stormont.
