Lark Rise Trail
The Lark Rise Trail is a challenging off-road cycle ride through the lovely countryside that formed the backdrop to Flora Thompson’s Lark Rise to Candleford. If you have read the book or watched the recent BBC series, you can see for yourself where Flora lived, went to school and worked as postmistress.
Challenge yourself on this established off-road ride through Flora Thompson’s Country. Best suited to mountain bikes and hybrids, the trail follows tracks, bridleways and quiet lanes, and is ideal for families and occasional riders, while our 40 mile route offers some more serious sections to test regular off-roaders.
Fully supported with signs, maps, drinks stops, plus back- up mechanic. The circular routes start and finish at Fringford (Candleford) north of Biscester and wind through the beautiful countryside of Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire including the classic Stowe Estate.
Now in it’s 7th year.A great ride for all abilities. Choose from our 12.5 mile starter ride or the tougher 25 and 40 mile trails.
For those coming by rail, the nearest station is at Bicester – a few miles to the south. For all queries, please call Chris on 01280 84 77 21
