Bear Bites

Ginger Bears


Ingredients


  • 150g Soft brown sugar
  • 150g Golden syrup
  • 340g Plain flour
  • 1/3 tsp Salt
  • 3 tsp Bicarbonate of soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp Ground ginger
  • 3/4 tsp Cinnamon
  • 75g Unsalted butter
  • 1 tbs Evaporated Milk

Instructions


  • A bear shaped twist on the gingerbread man.
  • Preheat your oven to gas mark 5 (190°C or 375°F) and grease three baking sheets.
  • Sieve together all the dry ingredients.
  • Heat the butter, sugar and syrup until dissolved.
  • Allow to cool. Once cool, add to the dry ingredients and the evaporated milk and mix to form a dough.
  • Chill for 30 minutes then roll out to a 5mm thickness before cutting bear shaped biscuits.
  • Add currants for eyes and claws before baking for 10-15 minutes.
