Bear Bites
Ginger Bears
Ingredients
- 150g Soft brown sugar
- 150g Golden syrup
- 340g Plain flour
- 1/3 tsp Salt
- 3 tsp Bicarbonate of soda
- 1 1/2 tsp Ground ginger
- 3/4 tsp Cinnamon
- 75g Unsalted butter
- 1 tbs Evaporated Milk
Instructions
- A bear shaped twist on the gingerbread man.
- Preheat your oven to gas mark 5 (190°C or 375°F) and grease three baking sheets.
- Sieve together all the dry ingredients.
- Heat the butter, sugar and syrup until dissolved.
- Allow to cool. Once cool, add to the dry ingredients and the evaporated milk and mix to form a dough.
- Chill for 30 minutes then roll out to a 5mm thickness before cutting bear shaped biscuits.
- Add currants for eyes and claws before baking for 10-15 minutes.
