Individuals without a team are most welcome to enter. We can usually find a team for you to join or you can walk on your own if you prefer but you will need to have a supporter to do this.

How much sponsorship do I have to raise?

We suggest that a minimum of £150 is raised by each team member, but ideally the team will be able to raise about £1000 in total as a guide.

Entry fees must be paid by 31 March but anything paid before that date is refundable.

What is a support crew?

Support crew are members of your team who will drive on ahead of the walking team to each checkpoint. They will have with them the team's refreshments and change of clothing. Support crew needs to be mobile to assist walkers along the route where necessary.

We don't have a support crew. Can we take part?

No, it is essential for you to have adequate support so we will need to attach you to another team.

How many checkpoints are there?

There are 9 checkpoints which vary between 3 and 6 miles apart.

What if we take longer than normal?

If you arrive at checkpoint 9 after 3.30pm you must stop walking here and your support vehicle will drive the team to the finish area.

If along the route, the walker cannot go any further you must communicate with your support crew to come and collect them from the along the route. If this is problematic, contact the event organisers.

How do I communicate with the team?

Each checkpoint is approximately 5 miles apart and your support crew can give and receive messages if your team is split. Communication on route will be via mobile telephone. Marshals at each checkpoint will also be in communication with each other and will update on status of walkers and teams.
