Our Eastern region comprises the whole of East Anglia from the Humber, south to the Thames, including the counties of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Lincolnshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.
42 voluntary fundraising groups work hard to spread the word about Action Medical Research and raise money. Events held annually include golf tournaments, balls, an open air concert, gift fairs, an art exhibition many lunches and coffee mornings.
Current research projects taking place in the east of England include work on epilepsy, spinal cord injury, premature labour, sickle cell disease, inherited emphysema and blindness due to retinal detachment. Projects recently ended include those on spasticity, cartilage repair and neurofibromatosis.
