On a mountain ridge, high above the Urubamba River, lie the ruins of Machu Picchu, once the seat of power for the ancient empire of the Incas. Register today for just £99.

In 2010 we will take you on the journey of a lifetime to see this inspirational site. Our four day trek follows the Lares trail, the less well-travelled, beautiful route through the Peruvian Andes. You’ll walk through lush valleys, past tranquil mountain lakes and over high passes with breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains.

Reaching a high point of 4,490 metres at the Wakawasi mountain pass, this challenging trek includes steep trails as well as fantastic views.

Finally we’ll make our way by train to Aguas Calientes and continue on to the highlight of the trek, the legendary Machu Picchu, where you’ll be able to explore this fascinating historical site at a leisurely pace.

We’ve built in time to allow you to acclimatise to the altitude in Cuzco and there will be opportunities to explore the many attractions and markets of this capital of the Inca Empire.

The trek covers around 40-km so sturdy boots, strong legs and good cardiovascular fitness are essential. The better you prepare for this amazing challenge the more you will enjoy it. Our porters will carry equipment so you will only need to carry a daypack.

To take part in this exhilarating challenge, we require a non-refundable registration fee of £99 plus your commitment to raise a minimum of £3,000 in sponsorship.
