Involving staff

Staff fundraising is a great way to give your employees the chance to have fun, get creative, build teamwork and improve communications. The emphasis is on fun in the name of a good cause.

Events
Action Medical Research has activities for your staff to take part in going on all round the country and abroad. From sponsored parachute jumps, marathon runs and bike rides, to organising fundraising balls and local fetes, everyone can make a unique and valuable contribution to the cause.

Payroll giving
This is one of the simplest and most cost-effective ways for individuals to donate to charity, but your staff can only do it if your company is signed up to a payroll giving scheme.

In the last year, Action Medical Research received gifts from 217 Royal Bank of Scotland Group employees, totalling £44k.

Under the Royal Bank’s payroll giving scheme, any donation made to charity from their salary each month is then ‘double matched’, providing £2 for every £1 donated directly by its staff.

Matched giving
Some of the most progressive companies in the UK now operate matched giving schemes, whereby the company tops up an employee’s fundraising efforts, including payroll giving, with a corporate donation. If your company does not operate such a policy yet, just consider what a great message this would give your staff.
