Stalwart marathon runner Terry Macey showed his support for children’s charity Action Medical Research in the 35th London Marathon on Sunday – having competed every year since the race began.
Terry, 66, is part of a group of runners who have competed in every marathon in the capital since it launched in 1981 – dubbed the ‘Ever Presents’, the group’s 12 members (originally 42 people) are now guaranteed a place every year.

Local lass organises Scotland’s first ‘Burnathon’ for children’s charity in memory of her brother
Arbroath resident, Cheryl Fraser, is organising a two hour ‘Burnathon’ in aid of children’s charity, Action Medical Research. The event, in memory of her baby brother, Dean who died of meningitis, will take place on 25 April 2015, the eve of his birthday, between 1pm and 3pm at the Community Centre in Arbroath, Scotland.

Children’s Charity launches ‘Tea with a twist’!
Children’s charity, Action Medical Research, today launches its annual fundraising Traditional Cream Teas campaign, which will be delivering wonderfully scrumptious and refreshing British Cream Teas directly to schools, colleges and workplaces on Thursday 18 June 2015.

His Royal Highness, The Duke of Edinburgh, welcomed over 100 Action guests, including researchers, doctors, scientists and business people to a champagne and canapé reception on 24 March 2015 at Buckingham Palace to celebrate his 60th year as Patron of children’s charity, Action Medical Research. His Royal Highness has kindly hosted many events for the charity over the years, but this one, held in the Blue Drawing Room, was particularly special.

Supporter takes on Five Challenges in Five weeks for children’s charity
Norfolk based Elgan Hallett has always been relatively fit and enjoyed exercise but it wasn’t until he lost his daughter, Seren, who was born prematurely last July, that he decided to do something active to support the children’s charity Action Medical Research. (They fund research to help save and change the lives of sick and vulnerable babies and tackle premature birth).

More than 1.75 million children and young people in the UK have a rare disease – and 30 per cent will die before they reach the age of five. 1 Children’s charity Action Medical Research, have launched a Spring appeal, tying in with the theme of Rare Disease Day (28 February), to highlight the need to fund vital research into devastating diseases for which there are often no cures.
