Some severely disabled children are particularly prone to suffering chronic pain and yet are unable to communicate how they are feeling. This research allowed the establishment of the 'Paediatric Pain Profile', a scale to help parents and healthcare professionals assess, and so relieve, the pain of these children. The scale is freely available for download from a dedicated website.
