Route 4 2010: what an incredible experience. The organisation was superb, and the accommodation excellent. The route was fantastic, winding its way through some beautiful countryside in both England and France. Everyone was very helpful in the Action and DA Teams, and the 4 days passed just too quickly. All the riders on the route were friendly, helpful and supportive towards each other - a real "brotherhood" of like-minded souls. The finish in Paris was just brilliant, and finished off the trip perfectly. I would thoroughly recommend that anyone thinking of doing this should just sign up now. You won't regret it.
Cycling Route 4 this year was, for me, a truly life-changing experience; I learnt more about myself in those few days than I'd learnt in a lifetime up to that point. The support from the folks at Action Medical Research and Discover Adventure is unsurpassed, and everyone on the ride looks out for everyone else too - a true team effort (I speak from experience here, having "come off" at 25mph just a handful of miles from the finish in Paris!). Not only that, but I've met some great people on the ride, established new friendships, and am confident that we'll meet up from time-to-time for the occasional ride too.
Well done everyone!
Route 4 2010 - Absolutely amazing! The staff were so helpful with everything! The ride was such an experience; one that everyone should take part in!
Special Thanks to Phil, Jackie and Colin from the Action team for keeping me motivated along the way!
if in doubt... just do it!
Finished route 4 this weekend just gone....one word... 'AMAZING!' Scenery, comaraderie, food, hotels, and just as important the organisation. AMR and DA were there to make sure the whole trip ran as smoothly as possible and that somebody as clueless as me didnt go wrong. Big thanks to everyone.
Arriving in Paris is something i will never forget and it completed the whole trip.
Would recommend this challenge to anyone looking to do something for a great cause and push themselves in the process.
Simply the best 4 days spent in the saddle - make a difference sign up and get involved - the support you will receive from AMR and DA will help you all along the way - Route 2 2010, simply rocked. Everyone watched out for each other and NO ONE was left behind. Truly amazing - well done to all - A special thanks to the boys from Extreme Catering - without whom the necessary food intake would not have been possible - the food was FAB - they never let us down!!!!!!!!
Absolutely brilliant. I cycled route 3 again. The French countryside is fabulous and the war cemetries are compelling. The camaraderie between riders was great with everyone pulling together. The organisation was excellent as usual.
One of the most memorable trips I will ever encounter. From start to finish I enjoyed every second with a special memory of all four groups merging at the Arc de Triomphe, like everything else "with clockwork precision".
The organisation from both AMR and DA was superb, they obviously work very closely as a team and only their differing shirt logo's could tell them apart.
Excellent accommodation, good food, new friends, outstanding scenery, testing hills and windy flats all added up to a unique and exhilarating experience. The bonus of watching the Tour roll in on the Sunday was just "icing on the cake"
Must leave a special mention for FIONA from DA who picked us up when we ended up at the wrong hotel in Paris (our own fault) and took our bikes back to London. All with a gracious smile. Thanks Again Fi. xxxxx
Simply Brilliant!, thanks - for the 3rd consecutive year, 2007 - route 2, 2008 - route 3 and 2009 - route 4 - all just great. Thanks to AMR and Discover Adventure for the brilliant organisation of almost 600 people to arrive at the same time on the Champs Elysees. well done to all the cyclists for raising money for such a great cause. Until next time.
Tell us what you thought of London to Paris so that we can improve our service for future years.
