Hi,
Thank you for visiting my sponsorship page. This year's challenge is a 330 mile ride from London to Paris via Portsmouth on one of my trusty bicycles (not sure which one yet), and we will be in Paris for the final stage of the Tour de France. I'm also intending to complete a number of warm up events including a very hilly 140 day ride and, in conjunction with my commuting and racing, expect to cycle over 5000 miles during 2010 - as of 10 Jun I've covered 2000 miles, achieved a personal best time in 10, 25 and 50 mile time trials, and riding a 126 mile sportive on Sunday 13 Jun.
I am raising money for Action Medical Research, a great children's charity dedicated to improving the health of babies and children in the UK. For almost 60 years the charity has been behind numerous breakthroughs such as the UK polio vaccine, ultrasound scanning in pregnancy, and more recently the fetal heart rate monitor a new state-of-the-art device that could help save thousands of at-risk babies. Action Medical Research relies entirely on donations to fund a range of research projects that address serious childhood conditions and improve quality of life for children with disabilities. You will also be supporting the Touching Tiny Lives appeal which is raising funds to help reduce premature birth and improve care of sick and vulnerable babies. Your support will help continue this potentially life-saving work.
Please tick the Gift Aid box if you are a UK tax payer as the UK Government will contribute an additional 25% on the money that I have raised.
I need to raise at least £1200 so I'm looking for all contributions, no matter how small. I will of course accept cash, gold bullion or left over Colombian sheckles to add to the cause. Having said that, I will be putting a big chunk of money in myself as the charity have to feed me for 4 days!!
Thank you very much for all your donations; every penny counts.
I've also raised £120 by cash donations (as at 15 Apr 2010) but still need lots more - please sponsor me.
