In June 2010 several of us will be taking on the challenge of cycling Coast to Coast, through the centre of England in 1 day.  The ride will commence in the early hours of Saturday 12th June from Aberdovey on the West coast of Wales.  We will pass north of Birmingham, through the centre of England (near Fenny Drayton - http://mapzone.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/mapzone/didyouknow/whereis/q_16_36.html) and eventually finish over 200 miles later on The Wash.  And no, Paddington will not be joining us on this one!

We are tackling this challenge because, well, it seemed like a good idea at the time.  As a volunteer for Action Medical Research I felt that this is too good a fundraising opportunity to let pass by.  We will be covering all event costs ourselves so every penny of sponsorship money received will go directly to the Charity's good causes.

Action Medical Research are a great children's charity dedicated to improving the health of babies and children in the UK.

For almost 60 years the charity has been behind numerous breakthroughs such as the UK polio vaccine, ultrasound scanning in pregnancy, and more recently the fetal heart rate monitor; a new state-of-the-art device that could help save thousands of at-risk babies.

Action Medical Research relies entirely on donations to fund a range of research projects that address serious childhood conditions and improve quality of life for children with disabilities.

You will also be supporting the Touching Tiny Lives appeal which is raising funds to help reduce premature birth and improve care of sick and vulnerable babies. Your support will help continue this potentially life-saving work.
