10th ride, 60 miles around Southampton and New Forest in 3 hours 50 minutes. Thats the last major ride now until L2P. In the gym each night for a 20 - 30 minute cycle to keep the legs moving. Ruby is in for a service to make sure she is in prime condition for the event. Next time I update is with results of how I have done. Thanks to all that has sponsored me and supported me.

UPDATE 04/07/10

8th & 9th rides of the year. 40 miles from Eastleigh - Fawley and back. 1324 calories burnt in 2:30 hours. Next day 70 miles from Wimbourne - Bovington Army Camp and back. Just under 5 hours which wasnt so good but the majority of the time was climbing hills (BIG hills) which slowed me down. 2435 calories burnt. So a grand total of 110 miles and 3759 calories burnt in 2 days. Only down side of the weekend was another puncture to my back wheel. Twice in 70 miles. Atleast im getting good at changing tires quickly now!!!

A slow walk back to the car for the final 1/2 mile with my feet sticking to the road. 50 miles completed in just over 3 hours.

Hi Everyone,

Thank you for visiting my sponsorship page.

I am raising money for Action Medical Research, a great children's charity dedicated to improving the health of babies and children in the UK.

My challenge is to cycle from London to Paris in 4 days. The route is approximately 300 miles. Thats an average of 75 miles a day.

For almost 60 years the charity has been behind numerous breakthroughs such as the UK polio vaccine, ultrasound scanning in pregnancy, and more recently the fetal heart rate monitor a new state-of-the-art device that could help save thousands of at-risk babies.

Action Medical Research relies entirely on donations to fund a range of research projects that address serious childhood conditions and improve quality of life for children with disabilities.

You will also be supporting the Touching Tiny Lives appeal which is raising funds to help reduce premature birth and improve care of sick and vulnerable babies. Your support will help continue this potentially life-saving work.

Please tick the Gift Aid box if you are a UK tax payer as the UK Government will contribute an additional 25% on the money that I have raised.

Thanks again.
