A certain Emma Bevan member of the Space Team thought it would be a good idea to do a walk for charity, and the rest of us stupidly put our hands up for this and now we have found out that we are walking 40 miles, oh yes I did say 40 miles along the Cotswold Way on Friday 11th June.
We then also found out that the walk starts at midnight and must be completed in 16 hours!!
Four of us will be taking part in this Mid-Summer night of madness. The Space Walk Team comprises:
“The very fit Mrs Sian Mellor, The Incredibly Fit Mark Howard, Emma (I can beat anyone up) Bevan, and the very weak, drink swilling, cigarette smoking Louise Chuter”!!
Obviously the real reason that we are carrying out this madness is that we are hoping to raise lots of money for Charity!!
Could you please find it in your hearts, but especially in your wallets (!!) to make a donation! The Charity is ‘Action Medical Research, for children for life’. In brief they aim to find and fund the very best medical research to help save and change children’s lives. The research covers three vital areas of unmet medical need to help babies, children and young people.
- Tackling premature birth and treating sick and vulnerable babies
- Helping children affected by disability, disabling conditions and infections
- Targeting rare diseases that severely affect many forgotten children
