--ACTION MEDICAL RESEARCH--
Please help us give more babies and children a healthy future. Each year in the UK 70,000 newborn babies need special care and around 50,000 are born prematurely. Tragically, more that 25 premature babies die each week because they were born too soon. Touching Tiny Lives is the Action Medical Research fundraising appeal to help find answers to premature birth,life-threatening pregnancy complications and to help sick and vulnerable babies.
--MY STORY--
My twin brother and I were born 7 weeks premature, due to my mother suffering from serious pre-eclampsia toxaemia. My brother was also diagnosed with a serious terminal disease known as Tuborous Sclerosis. He died at a very young age of 17. Robbed of a long and healthy life. At the tender age of 34 I was diagnosed with breast cancer.Undergoing very hard chemotherapy and radiotherapy. It was a very painful time for me and my family.I know how important medical research is. I would not have survived my cancer, had it not been for the many organisations dedicated to helping to cure people from this terrible disease. Taking part in the trek in Namibia in March 2010 is my way of giving something back to all the dedicated people helping to make our country healthier.
