Do I need a sponsorship page?

It isn't a requirement for most of our events, but it is an easy way for you to collect money for your fundraising. It can also be used to pay in your own money.

How do I create a sponsorship page?

If you registered online for one of our events you may already have a sponsorship page. If not, you can create a sponsorship page and follow the instructions.

How do I change/update the text that appears on the page?

If you aren't already, log in to the website and go to the My account page. On here you will get a list of all your active sponsorship pages. Click the Edit page/upload images link next to the sponsorship page you wish to update. Alternatively, while logged in to the website you can visit your sponsorship page where you will see a link at the top where you can edit your page.

On this page you are able to update the text that appears on your sponsorship page as well upload images, update your personal fundraising target and the enter the amount of money you have banked offline.

Can I change my fundraising target?

You will have a minimum target that you must raise for the event you are taking part in but can change the target that appears to potential sponsors on your sponsorship page to anything you want. If no target is set you will not get a progress bar on your sponsorship page.

I have banked money offline, is this reflected online?

No. Any money that you pay in offline will not appear on your online sponsorship page. You can update this amount yourself by going to the edit screen of your page.

I have paid in Charity Vouchers (CAF) and my sponsorship page isn't showing them, is this reflected online?

No. Any Charity Vouchers you send in will not appear on your online sponsorship page. You can update this amount yourself by going to the edit screen of your page.

Can I upload images on to my sponsorship page?

Yes. You can upload up to 10 images on your sponsorship page which will appear on the left hand side of the page.

How can I share my sponsorship page to my friends and family?

The easiest way is to copy and paste the URL of your sponsorship page in to an email which will be in the format: http://www.action.org.uk/sponsor/johnsmith.

You can also use the Share this page tool which is on the left hand side of your fundraising page. This allows you to share your page via Facebook, Twitter and many other online services.

I keep getting emails every time I get sponsored, can I turn this off?

Yes. If you go to the edit screen of your sponsorship page, you have an option to stop these emails.

I have been sponsored anonymously, is there anyway I can see who sponsored me?

If you log in to the website and go to your sponsorship page you will be able to see the name and any message from anonymous sponsors highlighted in yellow within the donators table.

I have set up a team page and have got two sponsorship pages, can I delete one?

You may. Some teams like to have one team page and individual pages for each team member which links up to the team page. If you don't want this and only want a team page, email webmaster@action.org.uk and we can delete the extra page for you.

My sponsorship page is showing the wrong event name or date, how can I change this?

Email webmaster@action.org.uk and we can update this for you.

I have reached my target, can I close my sponsorship page?

Sponsorship pages automatically expire six months after the event. If for any reason you don't want your sponsorship page to be active before this time, please email webmaster@action.org.uk

Can I link up my sponsorship page to my Facebook account?

Unfortunately the Facebook API which allowed us in the past to link the two together has changed quite dramatically which broke the functionality we had in place. We are working on a new way to link the two together so you can easily update your friends when you are sponsored.

Can I link up my sponsorship page to my Twitter account?

Yes. In the edit screen of your fundraising page you can click the Grant access button which will lead you through the process of linking your log in with Twitter. Once this is done, if you go back to the edit screen of your sponsorship page, you can check the box to automatically send a tweet to your account every time you are sponsored.

This can be turned off at any point through the Action Medical Research website or Twitter itself.
