Riding high

The Forest of Arden Bike Ride kicked off the cycling season in style with 270 riders taking on the 30-, 60- or 100-mile routes through glorious Warwickshire countryside.

Hot on its tyre treads were the The Suffolk Sunrise 100 and Castle 100 Bike Rides, which also enjoyed record numbers, with 290 and 650 participants respectively. These were three of a series of 100-mile rides happening all over the country this year, newest of which, the Chiltern Challenge 100, took place for the first time in June. 300 cyclists of all abilities pedalled through the Chiltern Hills, all the while raising money for our good cause. In fact, our 100 rides alone are expected to raise around £170,000 for our vital work.

Participants in this year’s London to Paris Bike Ride are currently gearing up for the off, and next year’s ride is set to be even bigger with 500 people cycling to the French capital across four different routes, in time to watch the finish of the Tour de France. The sterling efforts of this year’s cyclists are set to raise over £530,000 — a fantastic sum!

Much of the success and popularity of our bike rides is due to the thorough organisation that goes into them. All are fully supported with regular refreshment stops, repair services, clear signage and plenty of staff and volunteers on hand during the ride.

It’s not too late to register for a bike ride this summer. Click here to see which route takes your fancy, or be an early bird sign up for one of next year’s rides.
