About Baby Morgan Elliot Johnston-Jones

When Morgan and Jasmin were born they brought so much happiness into our lives, both so tiny and precious. They were beautiful and so perfect. Those first 3 weeks we spent with them both were beyond imagination (even though we were all still in special care). The joy our new arrivals brought to us, the smiles and hugs we shared. Morgan always told us when it was time for his milk! He loved his first bath with his sister, and the hugs they shared once in the cot together.

It happened very suddenly, Jasmin had a funny nose, the odd sneeze, the hospital didn't say anything about it (and we had heard nothing of RSV). The next day I did the breast feed as usual and after my nap I returned to my little boy being rushed off with breathing problems. Within hours Morgan was put onto CPAT and then within 24 hours a ventilator and he was transferred to special care a couple of hours from his sister. The next 3 weeks were the hardest 3 weeks of our life's. Watching our babies struggling in different ways with this awful virus. My little boy had to be paralysed so as not to move the ventilator. He experienced 5 tension pneumothorax in his right side with his colasped lung. It was so hard to see, to not be able to hold my baby and make him all better. Morgan was so strong and brave, but his lungs just couldn't pull through.

Morgan was taken from us so suddenly at just 7 weeks old, his short life has left us with precious memories we will treasure and share with everyone (and baby Jasmin), for years to come. We wanted to create awareness of the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and thus we have set up this tribute fund in memory of our brave little boy (who fought on for 3 weeks) to help fund valuable research into this potentially fatal virus. Morgan lives on in our hearts and in his baby twin sister. Thank you for visiting and for your support.

Love Emma and Nigel xx
