Kirsty McCabe on supporting Action

Published on

Updated:

Meteorologist and TV presenter Kirsty McCabe has presented weather forecasts for a wide range of television and radio channels; she is currently senior meteorologist for The Weather Channel and also presents the weather on Sky News and Channel 5.

A mother-of-two, she’s supported Action Medical Research for more than five years, attending lunch events and even letting us know what her favourite sandwich is to celebrate Paddington BearTM’s summer birthday (it depends on the weather: cheese and ham toastie if it’s cold, or a wrap with hummus and veggies in the summertime)!

In this guest blog, she tells us why we’re a cause close to her heart…

I first became involved with Action Medical Research back in 2011 during the Wear your Wellies event, after all the weather and wellington boots often go hand in hand!

When I found out that many medical breakthroughs we take for granted, such as ultrasounds in pregnancy or polio vaccines, were funded by Action, I became a supporter of the charity.

Action believe that medical research will beat the diseases that devastate so many children. All that’s missing is the funds to do it.
