High Atlas Toubkal Trek
Join Action Medical Research on this amazing Trek through the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco. The route is remote, barren and absolutely stunning and includes summiting Toubkal, the highest mountain in North Africa at 4167m.
Following mule tracks which take us up through the mountains, the first half of our trek allows for perfect acclimatisation to the altitude and gives us a great chance of summiting Toubkal.
We trek through diverse scenery, from beautiful cultivated valleys with mud-brick houses perched on the slopes to Toubkal’s rocky slopes. Your reward is the endless panoramas over this spectacular mountain scenery and the vast desert beyond. We finish in Marrakech, a vibrant, bustling city which provides the perfect contrast.
Your trip will be led by experienced leaders who are selected for their experience in harsh wilderness environment and their knowledge of travel in remote areas. They are also trained in expedition first-aid. Depending on group size, an expedition doctor or medic will also accompany the group. Our local support crew is made up of a friendly team of local guides, drivers, muleteers and cooks. Local guides are a great source of knowledge about local customs and lifestyles.
Vehicles take us to the start and pick us up at the end. All luggage, food, water and camping equipment is carried by mules when trekking.
The tour cost includes flights and transfers, accommodation, all camping equipment (except sleeping bag and sleeping mat), and all meals except three or four as specified in the detailed itinerary. Any airline fuel supplement is also included. Experienced leaders and doctor (depending on final group size) are included, along with a local support crew of guides, cooks, muleteers and drivers. Costs do not include personal travel insurance, meals as specified, or tips for local crew. It also does not include any personal spending or optional activities in Marrakech.
We strongly recommend you carry a credit card in case of personal emergency.
