Pippa swaps her wheelchair for two wheels to ride in Rohan’s memory

A Tamworth woman has been inspired to swap four wheels for two to tackle a 20-mile bike ride in memory of her friend’s son.

Pippa Bellis, who has athetoid cerebral palsy, meaning all four of her limbs have involuntary movements, will be cycling from Markeaton Park to Elvaston Castle and back again on Sunday, 8 May, in aid of UK-wide children’s charity Action Medical Research.

iTS Leadership to walk from Paddington to Paddington for Action Medical Research

A team from iTS Leadership in Bearsted are preparing for a 15-mile sponsored walk through central London for a UK-wide children’s charity.

They will be following the route of the London Underground Circle Line from Paddington back to Paddington as part of a bid to raise at least £2,500 for Action Medical Research, Paddington BearTM’s favourite UK charity.

Willmott Dixon to ride for a reason while showcasing rich history

Construction and property development company Willmott Dixon will be taking people back to where it all started for the inaugural Willmott Dixon Classic in aid of children’s charity Action Medical Research.

The company is aiming to raise £50,000 on Friday, 23 September, with up to 200 riders completing a route across Hertfordshire and south Cambridgeshire that takes in the village of Bassingbourn where Willmott Dixon was founded in 1852 after John Willmott was appointed to build a 12-foot well at the nearby Wimpole estate, which is also included in the route.

Action Medical Research recognises loyal volunteer's outstanding achievement

Tina Middleton from the Mid-Kent Committee of Action Medical Research has been honoured for her loyal service to the UK-wide children’s charity.

Tina, who has helped to raise funds for the charity for more than a decade, received an outstanding achievement award in recognition of her work at a regional meeting on Tuesday, 15 March.

Saddle up for Davina’s Big Sussex Bike Ride and join her as she rides for a reason

Davina McCall is inviting novice and experienced cyclists alike to join her Big Sussex Bike Ride on Sunday, 12 June, to raise much-needed funds for sick and disabled babies and children.

This will be the sixth year that the popular TV presenter and fitness queen hosts the cycling event in aid of Horsham-based children’s charity Action Medical Research, a cause she has supported since she was a child.

Connie Fisher helps raise more than £10,000 for children’s charity

Actress and singer Connie Fisher has helped UK-wide children’s charity Action Medical Research to raise £10,200 at an Aberdeen event.

The musical theatre star stole the show at the 19th annual Aberdeen ladies’ lunch at the Marcliffe Hotel and Spa on Thursday, 17 March, where she spoke about the highs and lows of being born with an amazing gift.

Premature daughters inspire father to ride for a reason

A Northamptonshire dad has been inspired by his premature twins to take to two wheels and ride for a reason in aid of children’s charity Action Medical Research.

Malcolm Vincent, from Ringstead near Kettering, will be taking part in RideLondon-Surrey 100 on Sunday, 31 July, to raise money to save and change the lives of sick and disabled babies and children.

Alex Dowsett to judge cycling photograph competition

UCI ProTeam Movistar Team’s Alex Dowsett will judge a photo competition being run by children’s charity Action Medical Research to find the best cycling snaps around.

Riders are being asked to upload their pictures at action.org.uk/easter for a chance to win a bundle of cycling goodies including a Brooks C15 saddle, a Lezyne track pump and a Purple Harry cleaning kit.

Smeg UK boss to go the extra mile for Action Medical Research

The head of Smeg UK is going the extra mile for children’s charity Action Medical Research by tackling the Virgin London Marathon in April.

Mike Giddings, Managing Director of Smeg UK, will be among the 38,000 people running the 26.2 miles on Sunday, 24 April, as part of his ongoing mission to raise funds to save and change the lives of sick and disabled babies and children.
