Dave Waterman completes fundraising hat trick following major back surgery

Colchester resident Dave Waterman has completed a major milestone in his recovery from a serious back injury.

On Sunday 2 September the 46-year-old completed the Action Medical Research Essex 100 bike ride to complete his hat trick of challenges for the children’s charity.

Local star Shaun Williamson – known affectionately by millions as Barry from Eastenders – will be dusting off his DJ to play host to a charity party night near Maidstone.

The actor, singer, media personality and presenter will be MC at the Kent Party Night for children’s charity Action Medical Research.

Horsham colleagues help raise over £900 for children’s charity

For the second time in two weeks colleagues from the Arun Estates Customer & Property Care Department in Horsham have gone the extra mile for Action Medical Research.

On Wednesday 22 August, team members took it in turns to ride on static bikes or rowing machines outside their offices in North Street from 8am – 6pm.

Action Medical Research has confirmed the first three BIG names who will be attending the 2018 Champions of CycleSport Dinner in London, kindly supported by Garmin.

The annual event – which will once again be held at Battersea Evolution - raises hundreds of thousands of pounds for the children’s charity every year.

The 57-year-old from Stamford braved scorching temperatures and completed the ‘London-Paris-Geneva’ cycling challenge for children’s charity Action Medical Research.

Dan Sinclair has done it!

The 29-year-old Sales Manager has completed the Action Medical Research London-Geneva charity bike ride.

“It was fantastic but the scorching temperatures made things difficult at times” admits the Swindon resident. “It often went above 40C and so staying hydrated was key. That and lots of suntan lotion.”

Derbyshire man smashes fundraising goal for London-Paris charity bike ride

Hours before Geraint Thomas cycled through Paris en route to his first ever Tour de France win, Ashbourne resident Jeremy Bacon was finishing his own French challenge.

The 52-year-old cycled along the Champs Élysées on Saturday 28 July along with fifty other riders to complete a 351 mile journey that started four days earlier in London.

Alton’s ‘Paris Peddlers’ raise thousands for Action

Just hours before Geraint Thomas won his first Tour de France, parents Karen and Russell Brown completed their own challenge in Paris!

The Alton couple – along with some friends – completed the 19th Action London-Paris bike ride for children’s charity Action Medical Research.

Berkshire bicyclist rides London-Paris on a tandem called ‘Graham’

They’re a bike made for two but Newbury resident James Avison proved that one pair of legs can work just as well on a tandem!

On the same weekend that Geraint Thomas won the Tour De France, the 46-year-old Company Director completed a 351 mile bike ride from London to Paris for children’s charity Action Medical Research.

Cream Teas campaign raises £65,000

Action Medical Research is delighted to announce that its 2018 Cream Teas campaign has raised around £65,000 with donations still coming in!

“We are thrilled” says Emma Morgan, Action’s Head of Events. “We cannot thank everyone enough for their kind generosity. Every one of our boxes sold really does make a difference.”

Swindon cyclists gear up for European charity challenge

670 miles is a long way to cycle. 

But that’s exactly how far Dan Sinclair and his teammates will be riding when they tackle the London-Paris-Geneva bike ride for Action Medical Research.

“It’s definitley going to be a challenge” admits the 29-year-old, “but Shaun and I rode the London-Paris leg last year, so I know what I’m getting myself into!”

Derbyshire man gears up for London to Paris 2018

Jeremy Bacon is a keen cyclist.

The 52-year-old from Ashbourne is a keen member of the local cycling club and will be representing Team GB later this year in the UCI World Amateur Road Race in the Italian Lake District.

All of which will certainly help his next charity challenge in the saddle as he prepares to cycle from London to Paris for Action Medical Research.
