TV presenter Davina McCall returned to Southampton on Friday 9 November to host the 12th annual ‘Dine with Davina’ event for children’s charity Action Medical Research.
Hundreds of guests attended the fundraising gala at the Grand Harbour Hotel to help raise vital funds.

The ‘Killer Heels and Cocktails’ fundraising gala - kindly sponsored by RUSK AND RUSK - was held in Glasgow on Friday 2 November for children’s Charity Action Medical Research.
Around 350 hundred guests attended the glamorous event at The Grand Central Hotel, including renowned portrait artist Gerard M. Burns.

The annual fundraiser was initially set up in in 2013 by Action supporter Lynn Tait, who sadly passed away in 2017.

Life, love and Lily: a Luton family’s story of devastating childhood illness is nominated for Charity Film Award
A short film featuring a local family has been entered into the 2019 Charity Film Awards.
Simon and Samantha Harriss worked with children’s charity Action Medical Research to create a beautiful, moving film that shows the devastating impact of a rare, life-shortening disease called beta-propeller protein-associated neurodegeneration (BPAN).
Tragically, their daughter Lily, who is 10, has the disease.

Action Medical Research is delighted to announce that the second annual ‘Ziggurat’ bike ride has raised more than £115,000!
Supported by Brett, Glider Technology and the Grafton Group the 2018 challenge saw 55 cyclists take on a 300 mile journey from London to Brussels.

Action Medical Research has announced seven new awards for vital research to help sick babies and children with a total value of £1,228,981.
The new studies, due to start later in 2018 or in early 2019 at leading universities and hospital across the UK, include:
A study into preventing or treating serious lung infections led by researchers at the University of Edinburgh.
Work to help children with juvenile arthritis at University College London.

London researchers are set to start a three year study aiming to identify babies at higher than average risk of autism spectrum conditions (ASC) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
The work at King’s College London is set to commence on 1 October with funding of £199,968 from children’s charity Action Medical Research.
Having one or both of these conditions makes life difficult for children and their families, and can seriously affect children’s education, employment chances and quality of life.

Children’s charity Action Medical Research will be taking over Layer Marney once again on Tuesday 2 October.
The twentieth annual ‘Action in the Autumn’ (https://www.action.org.uk/action-autumn) fundraiser was first launched by the Maldon Committee in 1999 and since then has helped raise nearly £180,000.

Colchester resident Dave Waterman has completed a major milestone in his recovery from a serious back injury.
On Sunday 2 September the 46-year-old completed the Action Medical Research Essex 100 bike ride to complete his hat trick of challenges for the children’s charity.

For the second time in two weeks colleagues from the Arun Estates Customer & Property Care Department in Horsham have gone the extra mile for Action Medical Research.
On Wednesday 22 August, team members took it in turns to ride on static bikes or rowing machines outside their offices in North Street from 8am – 6pm.
