'Team Saoirse' (pronounced Sear-sha) is calling for teams to sign up and join them on the Trek the Night: Cotswold Way. The event sets out from Dursley at midnight on 11 June 2017 and will raise vital funds for children's charity Action Medical Research.
The team is walking in memory of baby Saoirse, daughter of Pippa and Danny Curtin, who sadly died last May at just five days old from necrotising enterocolitis (NEC), a condition into which the charity is funding research.

New study asks: can different types of milk feed help protect premature babies from life-threatening bowel condition NEC?
Researchers at the University of Oxford and the University of Southampton have the go ahead to begin a study to find out which milk feeds could help protect premature babies from a life-threatening bowel condition called necrotising enterocolitis (NEC).
The year-long study has been made possible with a grant of £26,262 from children’s charity Action Medical Research.
The research will involve analysing data on the feeding patterns and type of milk given to more than 400 premature babies.

His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh has welcomed 130 guests to a royal reception at Buckingham Palace in aid of children’s charity Action Medical Research.
The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron of the UK-wide charity, hosted the Reception in the palace’s picture gallery on Wednesday, 15 March. Guests included medical professionals, scientists, major donors and corporate supporters.

Gig in the Garden returns for its fifth year to once again set alight Suffolk’s summer social scene. Organised by and for children’s charity Action Medical Research, the fun-filled family festival has also announced an early bird discount for fans booking before 30 April 2017.
The festival returns as a one-day event and will take place at a new site in Mendlesham near Stowmarket on 8 July. The fun starts at 12.00 noon on Saturday and rolls on until 11pm. Camping pitches for tents and campervans are available for a night under the stars after the music ends.
Children’s charity Action Medical Research is calling on groups of friends, students, team mates, colleagues and businesses in Wiltshire and Avon to get involved with 'Action Cream Teas' and join the fight for little lives.
Wonderfully scrumptious 'Action Cream Teas' will be delivered directly to doors by volunteers throughout the area during June and July 2017. The charity fundraiser means that by 'scoffing a scone', supporters will be helping to raise money to fund vital research for sick and disabled babies and children.

The nation’s favourite marmalade-loving bear from Peru, and mascot of children’s charity Action Medical Research, will be appearing at intervals throughout the day in ‘The Lawn’ area of the iconic London station.

Talented youngsters from across the country will take to the stage for the 33rd Youth Brass Band Championship and the 2nd Junior Brass Band Entertainment Festival of Great Britain, raising funds for children’s charity Action Medical Research.
The Opera House, Blackpool Winter Gardens, will once again play host for the championships which will take place on Sunday 12 February.
Paddington BearTM, Action Medical Research’s mascot, will be making an appearance as well as Mayor of Blackpool Councillor Kath Rowson.

A group of running pals from Moorside Park in Crosby have been inspired to tackle the Virgin Money London Marathon in aid of UK-wide children’s charity Action Medical Research.
Jim Hicks, Elizabeth Van Duyvenbode, Chris Beasley and Sarah Brewster from Moorside Park Run Club will be joining the country’s biggest race on Sunday, 23 April, to raise funds to save and change the lives of sick and disabled babies and children.
The running quartet is hoping to raise £4,500 with a string of fundraising events including a race night in March.

A Salisbury father-of-two is getting ready for one of Europe’s toughest mountain bike races later this year to raise funds for children’s charity Action Medical Research.
Lee Johnson will be heading to Montgenèvre in July for the week-long Alps Epic in a bid to raise thousands of pounds to save and change the lives of sick and disabled babies and children.

Stalwart members of the Southend-on-Sea committee for Action Medical Research have been honoured for their loyal service to the UK-wide children’s charity.
The committee, which has raised more than £250,000 to save and change children’s lives since it was founded, received an outstanding achievement award in recognition of their fundraising efforts.
