Preventing and treating infections

We know that babies and children are vulnerable to infections. Meningitis and septicaemia for example, kill more children in the UK than any other infections and can devastate the lives of those whose survive. Many are left with severe and permanent disabilities including deafness, epilepsy and learning disabilities.

Action Medical Research is supporting vital research to tackle meningitis and septicaemia, and other potentially deadly infections like pneumonia and MRSA.

We know medical research can save children’s lives. Our early research contributed to the development and adoption of the polio and rubella vaccines in the UK. With your help we can help improve prevention and treatment of other diseases.
