Peterborough 100 Frequently asked questions

Question: Do I need insurance?
Answer: We recommend that you have appropriate cover for you and your bike.
Question: Are spare parts available for my bike?
Answer: Yes, for most common bikes. Spares are chargeable. We have cycle mechanics on route to support you but do recommend you bring tubes etc. with you.
Question: What happens if I get lost or get into difficulties on the day?
Answer: On the day you will be given a contact number for our ride control, who will help with any issues.
Question: How long do I have to complete the ride and what happens if I can't complete the distance?
Answer: The ride closes at 6.00pm. Very slow riders may be picked up. If you are taking part in the Champion 100 mile ride and feel you are not able to complete in the allocated time, you can change to the Classic route at the route split. After the route split there is no opportunity to change route.
Question: Do I need to wear a cycle helmet?
Answer: You must wear a cycle helmet to take part.
Question: How old do I need to be to take part?
Answer: You must be at least 16 on the day of the event to take part; if you are under 18 you must be accompanied by an adult.
Question: What facilities are available?
Answer: Parking is available at and close to the hotel. Riders may use the changing rooms and showers at the hotel leisure centre (bike shoes should be removed in hotel) and toilets are available at our feed stations. Your belongings/valuables should be locked in your car or carried with you. There are well stocked feed stations along the route. Hot food and drinks will be available to purchase at the finish . The Marriott hotel also has a bar!
Question: What are the timings for the day?
Answer: REGISTRATION TIMES: Champion:06:30 - 07:45 Classic: 07:45 - 08:30 Cool: 08:30 - 09:00 START TIMES: Champion:07:00 - 08:15 Classic:08:15 - 09:00 Cool:09:00 - 09:15 To ensure you complete the ride we recommend slower riders leave as early as possible in the designated times departure slots.
