Action Medical Research uses TV advertising for the first time

Action Medical Research has just launched a six-week DRTV advertising campaign in support of its Touching Tiny Lives initiative. Touching Tiny Lives is the charity’s campaign to help sick and vulnerable babies, and aims to raise £3m for a new research programme to find answers to premature birth and other life-threatening medical problems affecting babies. This is the first time the Charity has tried TV advertising to appeal for funds. The 90-second advert, voiced by celebrity presenter Carol Vorderman, will appear throughout April and May on various channels including UK Gold, Living TV, UK History, UK Documentary, Performance, ITV News and Classic FM. The advert was produced by Space City Productions in London, and Northern Ireland-based Anderson Manning Associates (AMA) were contracted to handle all the telephone responses. Telling the story of Sophie, who was born very prematurely weighing just one pound and 14 ounces, the ad is asking viewers to give a regular ongoing donation to the charity. Action Medical Research is entirely reliant on voluntary support, and has a long-term commitment to giving the most vulnerable babies in the UK a better start in life.
