Art for Action: ‘Childhood memories’ charity exhibition: calling all artists!
Artists, designers, art schools and celebrities are being called on to contribute to the ‘Art for Action’ project being organised by the Dunmow Committee of children’s charity Action Medical Research.
On Friday 28 February 2014, the Committee will be holding an exclusive sale of original postcard-sized (5 x 7 inches) artwork to raise money for the charity, to help save and change children’s lives. The exhibition and sale will be held at the Gallery in the Garden, Great Saling, Essex.
The theme is ‘Childhood Memories’ and established and budding artists are being asked to enter a piece for this exciting exhibition.
Artwork has already been received from an impressive array of celebrities including: Stephen Fry, John Hurt CBE, Sir Roger Moore, Charlie Waite, Paul Benney and Jenny Hanley.
By taking just a few minutes, those contributing to the project can help make a huge difference to many sick and disabled children across the UK. Contributions of Childhood Memories are welcomed in a range of mediums: sketch, drawing, painting or photograph. Be yourself! Be creative for Action!
The art will be on displayed during the evening of the exhibition and collectors will choose their piece and purchase that night. Each card will be signed on the reverse so the collector will not know who the art has been created by.
Contributions are needed asap so the Committee can begin the framing and marketing of the exhibition. They will of course keep you informed about the exhibition and would also love you to join the evening.
The event will be raising money to help fund medical research into conditions affecting babies and children. Action Medical Research has been funding medical breakthroughs since it began in 1952. The charity is currently supporting work around Down syndrome, epilepsy, sickle cell disease, and diabetes, as well as some rare and distressing conditions that severely affect children.
