With the dark nights and seasonal stresses creeping upon us, leading medical research charity, Action Research, has compiled a free Winter Blues fact-sheet designed to ease the strain.
The short days and long nights of the winter months, along with the hectic run up to the festive season, can often leave us feeling lethargic, run down and depressed.
Women, children and adolescents for example, are more susceptible to seasonal affective disorder (SAD), which is caused by the reduction in bright light affecting the brain’s chemistry.
The fact-sheet advises how to spot and cope with SAD, and ways of avoiding and treating stress. It also offers handy hints on how to recover from over indulging in food and alcohol during the party season.
To obtain a copy of the fact-sheet, send a SAE to Winter Blues fact-sheet, Action Research, Vincent House, North Parade, Horsham, West Sussex, RH12 2DP, or email your request to email@example.com
