Brian Blessed says put your best foot forward to help children overcome disease and disability

29 January 2003

Dear Editor

I am appealing to your readers to put their best foot forward to raise money for leading medical charity, Action Research. Ever wondered how far you walk in a week? By taking part in the ‘Step into Action’ fundraising event your readers can find out – and raise money for a very worthwhile cause.

`Step into Action` is a sponsored walk with a difference! Participants are asked to wear a pedometer, which measures the distance walked in their everyday routines. The more you walk, the more money you raise in sponsorship. If someone decides to walk that little bit further, the good news is they do more exercise and raise extra money to help save lives. And Action Research really is a worthwhile cause.

Amazingly, because of its many medical breakthroughs, the charity has touched the lives of millions of people throughout the UK. The charity is dedicated to preventing and treating disease and disability across all age ranges from infants and children to adults. Readers’ support will help raise a target of £4.5 million this year to help fund vital medical breakthroughs. Participants need to pay a registration fee of £5 for an enrolment pack. The event takes place between March 24th-30th.

Yours faithfully Brian Blessed
