Car dealerships raise £12,900 for Paddington’s™ favourite charity
Allen Ford and Allen Kia, one of the UK's leading and long established car dealer groups, has raised £12,900 for children’s charity Action Medical Research. Dealerships in Coventry, Solihull and Northampton held special VIP sale days in February where valued customers were invited to the showroom for a free valet with exclusive deals available on the range of vehicles.
Over four days, 258 customers took up the offer and for every new car sold the dealership donated £50 to Action Medical Research. Allen Ford has chosen Action Medical Research as its charity partner and will be taking on further fundraising activities over the coming months.
Mike Phillips, Allen Ford’s Managing Director, said: “We are proud to be supporting such a worthwhile children’s charity and that Action Medical Research is our charity partner. The VIP days were a great success and customers thoroughly enjoyed the treat – it’s just fantastic that the promotion has also been able to benefit the charity as well.”
Allen Ford and Allen Kia will also be entering teams from every showroom into the Action Medical Research organised event – The Rutland PLOD. The Rutland Round PLOD is a charity walk and teams will need their stamina and wits about them to navigate a 40-mile route through the darkness as they push on to watch the sun rise and steam ahead through the following day.
Toby Tennant, Head of Relationship Fundraising, Action Medical Research, said: “It’s great that we’re working with Allen Ford and Allen Kia - £12,900 is a fantastic fundraising total. We’re looking forward to working with the dealerships in the future to raise even more money for our vital research.”
Action Medical Research has been funding medical breakthroughs since it began in 1952. Medical research can save and change children’s lives. Yet surprisingly, medical research into conditions that devastate children’s lives is poorly funded. The charity is currently supporting work around stillbirth, epilepsy, meningitis, cerebral palsy and brain cancer, as well as some rare and distressing conditions that severely affect children.
