Champion Cyclist Chris Boardman, invites you to have the ride of your life for Action Research

4 December 2002
Dear Editor As someone that has always had a passion for cycling I am appealing, on behalf of the medical charity Action Research, to your readers to take part in one of the charity’s fantastic bike events! Why not enjoy the ride of your life and take part in the `King of the Mountains’ Alpine Bike Challenge or join in the fun of the London to Paris Cycle Ride – both of which are taking place in July 2003. The fantastic Alpine Bike Challenge on 3rd-7th July 2003 tests your endurance and determination and climbing power across the French and Swiss Alpine Mountains! The London to Paris cycling adventure gives you the chance to visit Paris to watch the final stage of the Tour de France. Make sure you sign up for this amazing event, on 23rd-27th July, 2003 and share in the Tour’s 100th Anniversary. Register for either of these great events for only £99 by calling the events hotline on (01732) 744031, by email at events@action.org.uk, or alternatively go to www.action.org.uk. As someone who has suffered with a debilitating brittle bone condition, similar to osteoporosis, I understand only too well the importance of Action Research’s vital medical studies. Famous for it’s work in developing the UK’s first polio vaccine, Action Research carries out pioneering research to benefit children and families across the country. So why not join in the fun of one of these great cycling events on behalf of Action Research? Any one of us, at any time, may find ourselves in a situation where we benefit from the charity’s vital medical research. I hope you can help. Yours sincerely, Chris Boardman World Cycling Champion For further information please contact Rob Orme or Nicole Duckworth in the Action Research press office on 01403-327404 or 01403-327403 Fax: 01403 210541.
