Children's Charity 'jazzes' up Music Festival

3 December 2014

Suffolk charity music festival ‘jazzes up’  Gig in the Garden 2015 with a tuneful supper

After a sell-out success in 2014, ‘Gig in the Garden’, the family music festival bought to you by children’s charity Action Medical Research, is returning on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 July 2015. The event, now in its third year, will again be hosted by Wicks Farm, Mendlesham near Stowmarket and this year festival goers will also have the option to join a Jazz supper on the evening of 10 July 2015.

The two-day, two-stage Suffolk event, is this year being sponsored by well-known Suffolk-based solicitors, Rudlings Wakelam and will feature non-stop music from 1pm on Saturday until Sunday evening showcasing a variety of incredible local and national musicians, including the Suffolk Acoustic Showcase on the John Peel Centre Stage. Exclusive festival goers to the 2014 event (tickets are limited to 450 per day) saw bands including the very talented Lost Lungs, Horse Party, The Wilsons, Polar Collective and Underline the Sky along with a Tribute to Queen on Saturday night from The Bohemians.

In 2015 the Saturday night tribute band on the main stage will be the fantastic FABBAGIRLS quite simply the best Abba tribute band in the business. Also known as Rock Chicks, they have performed as backing vocals for some of the leading musicians including Lionel Ritchie, Queen and The Who.  The rest of the line-up in full is yet to be announced as bands are still being invited to apply. Those interested in performing in 2015 should send their application by email with links to video footage and music to by 19th December 2014. Bands will be announced at the end of January 2015.

Fiona Ashmead from Rudlings Wakelam Solicitors said, "Having attended the last two events of Gig in Garden, we are thrilled and excited to be involved as the sponsor for 2015. This unique event which involves families of all ages, reflects our company's ethos of 'advice for life' and we are really looking forward to working with Action Medical Research on this very worthy and exciting family event in July of next year.”

Tickets go on sale in early March 2015 priced from £15, with family tickets starting at £30 (2 adults and 2 children under 16) and camping options.
