Comedienne Vikki Stone isn’t joking as she takes on Warwickshire100 charity cycle challenge

28 March 2014

Vikki Stone, multi-talented comedienne, actress and singer will be taking on this year’s Warwickshire 100 cycling challenge through Shakespeare’s favourite county. Vikki is calling for riders to sign up now for the event on Sunday 27 April 2014, which is organised by Action Medical Research. Vikki will be riding the 101-mile Champion route to raise funds for the children’s charity.

There is a choice of Cool (37 miles), Classic (64 miles) and Champion (101 miles) routes setting out from Stratford upon Avon Racecourse and there will be separate start times for men and women on each route. The Warwickshire 100 will take cyclists through awesome scenery and picturesque villages as they pedal through the undulating countryside. This cycling event is suitable for riders of all abilities.

Vikki Stone says; “I’m really looking forward to the challenge, but think I may have been slightly over-ambitious signing up for 101 miles – it’s no laughing matter, I just hope my legs can take it! Action Medical Research is a fantastic charity undertaking some real groundbreaking work and this will spur me on every mile. It would be great if more people would sign up for the ride and come along on the day to join me.”

This event is part of the charity’s popular RIDE100 series of one-day bike rides that take place in fantastic cycling locations across the UK. All include chip timing, food and water stations, lunch, marshals, mechanics and the friendly team from Action.

Cyclists participating in the Warwickshire 100 will be raising money to help fund medical research into conditions affecting babies and children. Action Medical Research has been funding medical breakthroughs since it began in 1952. The charity is currently supporting work around stillbirth, epilepsy, meningitis, cerebral palsy and brain cancer, as well as some rare and distressing conditions that severely affect children.

Places are limited so make sure you register soon. For more information about the Warwickshire100 ride and to register, visit the website: http://www.action.org.uk/100warks
