Eastenders' Star Patsy Palmer and Paddington Bear on a Peruvian Adventure! Trek Machu Picchu 10-19 May 2003

11 July 2002
Dear Editor I am joining Paddington Bear on his journey back home to darkest Peru to help raise lots of money for my favourite charity! I will be taking part on an amazing sponsored trek to the lost city of Machu Picchu on behalf of the medical charity, Action Research, and I want you to join me and be one of their 50 trekkers on this incredible challenge. Action Research has helped to improve the lives of so many children, adults and families across the UK over the last 50 years with the medical research it funds. As a mother of three the health of my children is very important to me and that is why I am supporting Action Research. Not so long ago I endured the trauma of premature birth with my second son, Fenton who was born at just 32 weeks. Luckily he has grown up fit and healthy. You may be surprised to hear that 70,000 babies are born prematurely each year, each of them missing vital development time in their mother’s womb. Tragically less than half of these babies born between 23-25 weeks live. Action Research would like to change this! If you have a sense of adventure, please join me, Patsy Palmer, and Britain’s most loveable bear – Paddington - and take part in Action Research’s Trek to Peru in May 2003. Alternatively you can always join the team in October 2003. For a FREE information pack call the Action Research event hotline number on (01403) 327477 or log on to www.action.org.uk Any one of us may find ourselves in a situation where we benefit from Action Research’s work. I hope you can help. Paddington’s Friend Patsy Palmer TV Actress PS: For media information please contact Vicki Rayment in the Action Research Press Office on 01403 327404.
