Five say 'Do Something Bearilliant'!

15 May 2001
Boy pop band Five are asking teddy bear lovers across the country to ‘Be Bearilliant’ and help raise money for leading medical charity Action Research. The band is urging ‘Everybody Get Up’ and take part in the charity’s Bring Your Bear Week between 18-24 June. Ritchie Neville ‘beared’ all when he said: “Get involved! It’s for a great cause, and I’m sure there are thousands of bears across the UK who would love to escape from their bedrooms and take part”. Action Research’s mascot, Paddington Bear, will also be busy taking part during Bring Your Bear Week. He celebrates his birthday at the end of the week on June 25th. A free ‘Bear Essentials’ fundraisers pack is now available by calling the Bear Hotline on 01403 327419 or by logging on www.action.org.uk. Bring Your Bear week is part of ‘Touching Lives’, Action Research’s millennium campaign to raise £1.5 million for medical research into conditions affecting children and families. Premature birth, meningitis, asthma, cerebral palsy, diabetes, and epilepsy are just some of the vital areas of research that Action Research is funding - work that will touch the lives of thousands of children and families across the UK. For further press information contact Mike Deyes on 01403 327429. Photos and an interview with five are available at www.action.org.uk/news.
