Footballer Joe Cole kicks-off `Bring Your Bear 2002'
9 May 2002
West Ham and England International Joe Cole is asking teddy bear lovers across the UK to `be un-bear-lievable’ and help raise money for the leading medical charity Action Research.
Joe, who is playing in this year’s World Cup in Japan, will be kicking-off the charity’s nationwide `Bring Your Bear’ event in June to help raise vital funds for its 50th Anniversary Touching Lives Appeal.
`Bring Your Bear 2002’ promises to be the biggest and best ever yet and with over 1,000 events in the UK there will be fun for everyone! Action Research’s mascot, Paddington Bear, will be holding his very own party as he celebrates his summer birthday on June 25th.
Joe said: “Help Paddington and I kick-off this year’s nationwide `Bring Your Bear’ event to help raise vital funds for sick babies and children. I can’t think of a better way of having fun and raising money than by bringing your bear to school or work.”
All bear lovers who register will receive a FREE Paddington Bear and a fundraising pack containing a sponsor form, bear stickers, and a fabulous Paddington poster!
What’s more, everyone who holds a `Bring Your Bear’ event on June 25th will be entered into a free prize draw to win a visit from the loveable Paddington Bear on his summer birthday. Ten runners-up will receive a signed England shirt from Joe Cole.
