HEART FOR A CAUSE
Heart for a Cause: Do Something A.M.A.Z.I.N.G this Valentine’s
and you’ll be giving others a gift they’ll never forget
This February, we’d like to suggest a gift idea with a difference. For a heart-felt present to yourself and others, this Valentine’s, why not plan to do something: Active, Managerial, Aspirational, Zealous, Inspiring, Noteworthy and Good for children’s charity, Action Medical Research?
If you’re Active: Action Medical Research is looking for cyclists to sign up NOW for its popular RIDE100 bike rides that take place up and down the country from April 2015. By signing up and training for this challenge you’ll find it easier to stick to your goals and you’ll be helping fund research to help sick babies and children at the same time. http://www.action.org.uk/events/cycling/ride100-series
For those with Managerial skills – you could join one of our fundraising groups or enter one of your teams at work for our overnight PLOD events which are perfect for corporate bonding and require endurance, teamwork and skill. http://www.action.org.uk/events/overnight-plod-walks
Feeling Aspirational? Check out our treks from Kilimanjaro to the Great Wall of China, the Jurassic Coast to the base camp of Everest. http://www.action.org.uk/events/trekking
If you’re Zealous about our cause and would like to shout about the work we do, we have vacancies for speaker ambassadors for local groups, clubs and organisations. http://www.action.org.uk/support-us/volunteering/speaker-ambassador. If you’re a school or nursery you may like to participate in our Bring your Bear events. http://www.action.org.uk/events/bring-your-bear
Inspiring? Become an Action Partner by committing to a significant annual donation, ideally for at least three years, and you'll become a real partner in the medical breakthroughs we're aiming for: http://www.action.org.uk/support-us/making-major-donation
Action Medical Research is a Noteworthy charity that has funded some amazing medical breakthroughs including the introduction of the first polio vaccines in the UK, helping develop the use of ultrasound in pregnancy, testing the early rubella vaccine and discovering the importance of taking folic acid before and during pregnancy to prevent spina bifida. By supporting us you will be contributing to the vital work we are currently funding which is focusing on tackling premature birth and treating sick babies as well as helping children affected by disability and targeting rare diseases. http://www.action.org.uk/our-research
Good – if you’re a company, a partnership with Action Medical Research can bring real benefits to you and your employees and further your corporate social responsibility aims. http://www.action.org.uk/support-us/company-support . As an individual, becoming involved in our social events and gift fairs http://www.action.org.uk/events/social-events is fun and worthwhile! Or you could consider becoming an office or event volunteer? You’ll always be made to feel really welcome as part of our friendly charity team. http://www.action.org.uk/support-us/volunteering
Give your heart for a cause this year. Make a pledge to do something different and we’ll look forward to hearing from you. http://www.action.org.uk/
