TV celebrity Davina McCall wants you to join her this Sunday (9th July) in Portsmouth for Davina’s Day Out!
This great day for all the family starts at 10.30am in Castle Field, Southsea and is a gentle 5-mile stroll along the Millennium Chain Promenade, taking in all the sights, to Gunwharf Quays.
Footy fans will be back in plenty of time for the World Cup Final and will have had a fun day limbering up ahead of settling down for 90 minutes of world class action.
Meanwhile you can be satisfied that you have helped the lovely Davina to raise desperately needed money to save premature babies – a cause very close to her heart.
The £52,000 raised by the 2,000 walkers who took part in this event last year has meant that the charity Action Medical Research has already been able to start its life-saving work as part of the £3m Touching Tiny Lives Campaign.
Thanks to Davina and her fellow walkers the campaign is off to a flying start!
Davina said, “I do hope you can join me and be part of Davina’s Day Out this Sunday; it will be great fun as well as being for such a good cause.
“I’ve been an active supporter of Action Medical Research for a long time, and joined my grandmother on sponsored walks as a child. So if I can do it - so can you!
“This event supports Action Medical Research’s Touching Tiny Lives Campaign, helping vulnerable babies in those crucial first days of life. As a mother of two young children I really appreciate how important this is.
“So come on guys, don’t just think about it!”
Registration for walkers begins at 9.30am at Castle Field on Sunday 9 July. It costs just £7 to enter or £15 for a family and there will be free t-shirts for every adult and Gosport ferry passes too.
