Last call for riders for Chiltern charity cycle challenge

11 June 2014

Cycling challenge, the Chiltern Challenge100, will take place in Thame on Sunday 22 June and children’s charity Action Medical Research is calling for riders to sign up now for this fantastic event. There is a choice of Cool (42 miles), Classic (71 miles) and Champion (103 miles) routes setting out from Chinnor Rugby Club.

TV presenter, AJ Odudu and her friend James Hill, a presenter and YouTuber are taking on the 71 mile route to raise vital funds for children’s charity Action Medical Research. The pair will ride through quaint villages as the route meanders through the lanes of Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire.

AJ says: “As a committed fitness fanatic, and a lover of challenges, I can’t think of a better way to support this wonderful charity. It’s set in some of the area’s most stunning countryside and Action Medical Research provides great support on the day. It’s going to be a great, fun day, cycling with my good friend Jimmy, so come on down and join in the fun!”

Money raised by riders will help to fund medical research into conditions affecting babies and children. The charity is currently supporting work around prematurity, epilepsy, meningitis, cerebral palsy and brain cancer, as well as some rare and distressing conditions that severely affect children.

The friendly team from the charity will be there to support riders all the way. Mechanical support, first aiders and massage therapists will also be on hand.

There are two entry options. Participants can pay £30 and raise a minimum of £35 in sponsorship, or they can pay a flat fee of £55 with no further money to fundraise. People can also turn up on the day and register to enter the ride.
