Last chance to grab tickets to Suffolk’s biggest charity music festival
Gig in the Garden, the Suffolk event on the festival calendar, returns on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 July at Wicks Farm, Mendlesham near Stowmarket. The two-day event, organised by children’s charity Action Medical Research, has camping available and follows the sell-out success of 2013’s debut. There are still tickets available and Action is calling on people to snap them up before they sell out.
Headline acts for the weekend include Queen tribute band The Bohemians and local superstars Polar Collective. The boys from the band say:
"We're incredibly humbled to be asked back to join Action for this year's Gig In The Garden to support them in raising valuable donations that enable them to save countless young lives. We can't wait to play again this year and we're looking forward to rocking the stage on the Sunday!"
Other local acts playing over the weekend include Horse Party, Elephant in the Room, Chasing Storms, Lost Lungs, Pinhead, El Pascal, The Wilsons, The Fern Tether Band, Heartacker, Gion Stump, Jade Dunno, Underline the Sky, Cathedral and Cars, Ollie Banks, Jo Bowleys and The Kettle Girls.
In addition to the main stage, this year The John Peel Centre Stage will have music throughout the weekend with the Suffolk Acoustic Showcase.
The festival beer tent and Pimms and Champagne bars will guarantee that no mouth will be dry. And food stalls will guarantee no one goes hungry, including the Big Breakfast for campers! There will also be a bouncy castle for the children, as well as craft workshops and much, much more – this festival really offers something for everyone.
Money raised will go to the charity to help fund vital research for babies, children and young adults. Medical research can save and change children’s lives. Yet surprisingly, medical research into conditions that devastate children’s lives is poorly funded. Action Medical Research is currently funding research into conditions including Down syndrome, premature birth, epilepsy, meningitis and rare diseases.
Advance tickets are available from £15, with family tickets starting at £30 (2 adults and 2 children under 16). Book online at www.action.org.uk/gig

Action Medical Research is a UK-wide charity saving and changing children’s lives through medical research. We want to make a difference in:
tackling premature birth and treating sick and vulnerable babies
helping children affected by disability, disabling conditions and infections
targeting rare diseases that together severely affect many forgotten children.
Just one breakthrough, however small, can mean the world.
