New ‘Bring your Bear’ schools pack includes Paddington™ Movie Stickers
Paddington Bear has been at the heart of fundraising for Action Medical Research ever since his creator, Michael Bond, met the charity’s founder, Duncan Guthrie, in 1976 and this year he's been starring in the first ever live action film inspired by Michael Bond’s best-selling books. Following Paddington Bear’s screen debut, Action Medical Research’s 2015 ‘Bring your Bear’ schools pack now has new-look artwork, posters and Paddington movie stickers! Nurseries and schools across the UK who take part in ‘Bring your Bear day’ will receive both this FREE fundraising pack and access to an online kit full of useful materials to help raise vital funds for Paddington’s favourite charity.
The idea is that children bring in their favourite bear for a day, along with a £2 donation. Many ‘Bring your Bear’ participants also organise a whole day of fun activities, such as reading Paddington stories, baking teddy bear biscuits or holding a teddy bears’ picnic.
Gina Campbell, event organiser at Action Medical Research, said, “ Bring your Bear is always a popular event amongst school children up and down the country but the success of the Paddington Movie has led to even more interest. We hope that children will enjoy our new movie stickers and updated poster designs and have a really enjoyable day!”
Money raised will help fund medical research into conditions affecting babies and children. Medical research can save and change children’s lives. Yet surprisingly, medical research into conditions that devastate children’s lives is poorly funded. Action Medical Research is currently supporting work around stillbirth, epilepsy, meningitis, cerebral palsy and brain cancer, as well as some rare and distressing conditions that severely affect children.
