Local man organises black tie and tiara evening

3 April 2014

Kettering man, Mark Robinson, is organising a black tie and tiara evening in aid of children’s charity, Action Medical Research. Mark is taking part in a number of challenges for the charity this year and he has organised the event to boost his fundraising.

The event is taking place at the Kettering Park Hotel on Saturday 10 May. The evening includes a champagne reception, followed by a three-course meal and a live band and disco. Tickets cost £45 per person and tables of 10 are available at £40 per person. To book tickets call 07773 335915.

Mark is running the 2014 Virgin Money London Marathon in April and riding from Kettering to join the Action London to Paris in July with his 63-year-old dad for the charity. Mark and his father have been fundraising for Action Medical Research for the past five years and this will be the third ball Mark has organised.

Mark, says: “I really hope that people will come along to the black tie and tiara ball and make it a fantastic evening. I enjoy putting on the event and get a brilliant response each year. It all helps me with my fundraising target as I take part in the Virgin Money London Marathon and cycle from Kettering to join the Action London to Paris ride.”

The money Mark raises will help fund medical research into conditions affecting babies and children. Action Medical Research has been funding medical breakthroughs since it began in 1952. The charity is currently supporting work around stillbirth, epilepsy, meningitis, cerebral palsy and brain cancer, as well as some rare and distressing conditions that severely affect children.
