Join Paddington Bear – the mascot of leading medical charity, Action Research – for its London to Paris Cycle Ride to raise vital funds for the charity’s Touching Lives campaign. The London to Paris Cycle Ride is particularly special this year, as the charity celebrates a milestone in its successful history – 50 years of touching lives through medical research. This fantastic five-day trip takes place between the 24th and 28th July 2002, finishing in Paris on the day before the world’s most famous cycle ride – The Tour de France. Following your amazing achievement you will be able to spend your last day relaxing and watching the giants of the cycling world race the streets of Paris! Be one of our 50 cyclists experiencing the picturesque Kent countryside, before crossing the Channel to France. From Calais you will ride to Abbeville and then onto Beauvais before crossing the river Theram and heading towards Paris when you will reach your final destination – The Eiffel Tower! Anthony North, Events Manager for Action Research, said: "Our Touching Lives campaign aims to raise £2 million for vital medical research to benefit children and families across the UK. With Paddington’s support we hope that as many people as possible will take part in this great cycling experience to help make this event a real success!" The package includes ferry crossing, return travel by Eurostar, full-board hotel accommodation en route, bed and breakfast in a Paris hotel, a celebration dinner on the Champs Elysees, back-up vehicle support, a cycle mechanic and maps.
