More greats announced for Champions of CycleSport
Rob Hayles, Dani King MBE, Hannah Walker and Jon Mould are amongst the latest names that have confirmed their attendance at this year’s Champions of CycleSport Dinner supported by Broadstone and BDO LLP, in aid of children’s charity Action Medical Research. The event, now in its’ fifth year, is taking place on 27 November 2014 at the exciting new Battersea Evolution venue with cycling legend Chris Boardman MBE again as the event Ambassador.
Rob, Dani, Hannah and Jon will be joining attendees already confirmed for the ‘hot ticket’ event, including Sir Dave Brailsford CBE, David Millar, Martyn Ashton, Yanto Barker, Jody Cundy, Ian Wilkinson, Dean Downing, Roger Hammond, Tom Stewart and Matti Hemmings. BBC TV Cycling Commentator and Football Commentator for BBC Match of the Day, Simon Brotherton, is returning as ‘live auctioneer’ and keen cyclist and Sky news presenter Dermot Murnaghan will once again be conducting live and exclusive interviews with the Champions, sponsored by Quilter Cheviot.
Four times National Champion and winner of the Queen of the Mountains Jersey for the Bedford three day stage race, Hannah Walker and Jon Mould, fresh from representing Wales at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow are looking forward to participating. “The Worlds at Glasgow was great for me”, said Jon, “and I am excited to be able to share my stories with the guests and sponsors at the dinner. It will be a monumental night for Action Medical Research I am sure!” Rob Hayles is looking forward to repeating his support of “such a fantastic charity” and Dani King MBE said, “With all that’s happened in the past two years, I’m looking forward to celebrating both British Cycling and my personal success at the Champs dinner.”
Last year’s event which saw the UK’s cycling elite mixing with Action Medical Research supporters, raised a fantastic £185,000 to help sick babies and children and everyone agreed that the mix of fun, interviews, auction and fine dining led to the best year yet. This year the charity is intending to top that!
