New Peter James' 'Want You Dead' Missing Evidence Game launched

19 June 2014

Children’s charity Action Medical Research today launches the 2014 Peter James Golf Classic and, new for this year, the ‘Want You Dead’ Missing Evidence Game.

The annual Golf Classic is now in its fifth year, raising over £52,000 for the charity, and will take place on Wednesday 10 September, again at the finely manicured and carefully maintained Haywards Heath Golf Club

The Peter James Golf Classic is sponsored by the Harwoods Group, the South East car dealership. It is limited to 32, 4-ball teams and has some great prizes up for grabs.

Peter James will be on hand to autograph his latest crime thriller at the Golf event. Want You Dead is the 10th book in the award-winning Detective Superintendent Roy Grace series, which is set in Brighton. The series is now translated into 36 languages and has sold 14 million copies worldwide.

The new ‘Want You Dead’ Missing Evidence Game is based on Peter's latest crime thriller, which was launched 3 June 2014. Hosted on the Action Medical Research website, players attempt to find the missing piece of evidence and win £1,000; read the clues and select a square from a grid of 500 for £10, or multiple squares, to be in with a chance to win! *

Sussex-based Peter, whose latest crime thriller Want You Dead was published earlier this month, is calling on the nation to get involved with the Game and the Golf Classic. He is also urging local businesses to support the event. He says:

“I know that child health research is desperately underfunded so it’s great to work with Action Medical Research and to be able to help them a little with the incredible work they do.”

“Already many of last year's competitors have booked their tee times for the Golf Classic - so don't miss out and sign up now, it’s such a great, fun day! There are also many ways local businesses can support the event and promote their goods or services, without even having to pick up a club – by sponsoring a hole, advertising in the event magazine, making a donation or giving a raffle prize.”

“And what a great idea and novel fundraiser the new ‘Want You Dead - Missing Evidence Game’ is! Please do take a look, you could be in with the chance of winning £1,000 and at the same time you will be helping sick babies, children and young adults.”

Action Medical Research is currently funding work around conditions including premature birth, stillbirth, epilepsy, meningitis, cerebral palsy, brain cancer and some rare and distressing conditions.
