Paddington's 'Bearilliant' party to help sick children

6 May 2003

A 'Bearilliant' time awaits everyone who takes part in the 'Bring Your Bear' party between 23rd and 27th June to celebrate Paddington's Birthday. Leading medical charity, Action Research is inviting people to bring their teddy bear to school or work and join in activities to help raise money to find treatments for sick children.

'Big Brother' presenter Davina McCall, encouraging participation in the event, says 'I remember raising money for Action Research as a child, and now as a mother, I really appreciate the value of its work.'

Davina, who is expecting her second baby, continues 'Amazingly, Action Research has touched the lives of nearly everyone in the UK because of its wide range of breakthroughs, particularly in treatments for sick children…So join me in making 'Bring Your Bear' a great success - and ultimately help save lives.'

As the Action Research mascot, Paddington is looking for schools, brownie and cub packs, guides and other groups to hold 'Bearilliant' parties, organise money raising activities and help raise over £50,000. There are lots of great money raising ideas to make the day a big success available in a special 'Bring Your Bear' party pack from (01403) 327440 or
