Peterborough residents sign up for London to Paris charity bike ride

25 March 2014

33-year-old Peterborough resident Cally Gage, also hard house DJ/producer and label owner, is taking on the London to Paris bike ride in aid of children’s charity, Action Medical Research. She will be accompanied by her mum and friend, Jinnie Nelson-Smith. The 260-mile journey over four days will help to raise vital funds to change the lives of sick babies and children.

It will be the tenth time that Cally’s mum, Jackie, has ridden London to Paris for the charity but Cally herself is new to cycling. Last year she completed the London to Brighton ride with Jinnie and they both decided they would like to try another charity cycling event.

Cally trains mainly at weekends and, as part of a cycling club, fits in 40-mile journeys in preparation for the long distance London to Paris ride.

Cally Gage, said: “Taking part in this challenge will make me feel a real sense of achievement and it’s also fantastic to be riding to Paris with my mum.”

To reach their fundraising team target of £4,500, Cally, Jackie and Jinnie will be holding a charity club night, organising a go-karting day out, a cake baking day and a fancy dress night out.  If anyone would like to donate any money, even just £1, please go to

Cally, Jackie and Jinnie will be raising money to help fund medical research into conditions affecting babies and children. Medical research can save and change children’s lives. Yet surprisingly, medical research into conditions that devastate children’s lives is poorly funded.

Action Medical Research has been funding medical breakthroughs since it began in 1952. The charity is currently supporting work around stillbirth, epilepsy, meningitis, cerebral palsy and brain cancer, as well as some rare and distressing conditions that severely affect children.
