Snap up family photography sessions in aid of Action

Updated:

Families should act quickly to snap up photography sessions as Muse Portraits shows its support for UK-wide children's charity Action Medical Research next month.

The Pakenham studio will be offering family portrait sessions worth £200 in exchange for a £25 donation to Action Medical Research throughout November to raise funds to help save and change children’s lives.

Founder Alex Kilbee hopes to book 65 shoots between 1 November and 30 November to mark the charity's 65th anniversary next year.

“We're really happy to support Action Medical Research in this way because the core of our business is focused around creating wonderful portraits of children, so this is a great way to be able to help more of those children,” says Alex, a multi award-winning professional photographer with more than 20 years’ experience.

“We’ll be offering one-hour portrait experiences at the studio as well as a framed seven-inch photograph for just £25, all of which will go to the charity. Anyone wishing to take up the offer should book directly via the Muse Portraits website or call the studio on 01359 233619.”

With the help of its supporters, Action Medical Research has helped pioneer treatments and ways to prevent disease that have benefited millions of people in the UK and across the world. Research they’ve funded has helped to beat polio in the UK, develop ultrasound in pregnancy, fight meningitis and prevent stillbirths.

Action Medical Research is currently funding research into meningitis, Down syndrome, epilepsy and premature birth, as well as some rare and distressing conditions that severely affect children.

“We are delighted that Muse Portraits are supporting us during November - fingers crossed we can get 65 families in for a fantastic photo shoot in the run-up to Christmas,” says Lucy Hynes, Action Medical Research's Community Fundraising Manager for the region.

“There are hundreds of thousands of children in the UK whose lives are devastated by disease and disability. We need support to fund vital research to develop new treatments and cures for sick babies and children which is why support like this is so important.”
