TV presenter AJ Odudu takes on Chiltern charity cycle ride

7 April 2014

TV presenter, AJ Odudu is taking on the Action DIVA Chiltern ride this year summer, to raise vital funds for children’s charity Action Medical Research. The ride sets out from Thame on Sunday 22 June.

A lover of all things music, fashion and fitness, AJ and her fellow DIVAs will ride through quaint villages as the route meanders through the lanes of Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire.

The Action DIVA rides offer women a female-only send off and a Cool 42 mile route that is ideal for those who are new to cycling, although still a challenge that will require training and determination.

AJ says: “I want to gather as many women riders as possible for the special send off on the 42 mile route of the DIVA Chiltern. It will be a tough challenge but you can do it - so get your girl friends on board, sign up now and plan your training.

“As a committed fitness fanatic, and a lover of challenges, I can’t think of a better way to support this wonderful charity. It’s set in some of the area’s most stunning countryside and Action Medical Research provides great support on the day. It’s going to be a great, fun day, so come on, let’s give the boys a run for their money!”

AJ was born and bred in Blackburn and is one of eight children. A music and fashion lover with strong opinions and a passion for fitness, AJ has an English and Politics Degree and now lives in London.

Money raised by riders will help to fund medical research into conditions affecting babies and children. The charity is currently supporting work around stillbirth, epilepsy, meningitis, cerebral palsy and brain cancer, as well as some rare and distressing conditions that severely affect children.

The friendly team from the charity will be there to support riders all the way. Mechanical support, first aiders and massage therapists will also be on hand.

There are two entry options. Participants can pay £30 and raise a minimum of £35 in sponsorship, or they can pay a flat fee of £55 with no further money to fundraise.

All Action RIDE100 events also offer a more challenging Classic route, for men and women, and a Champion route, ideal if you are a more experienced rider.
